Purpose and Our Passion

Please Support These Ministries

To passionately pursue our Lord Jesus Christ’s Kingdom Principles!

To extend the hands of Jesus to the helpless, the hopeless, and the hapless.

To touch hurting hearts with helping hands… to “Give a cup of cold water in Jesus’ Name.To impact the world on a daily basis and touch lives with the liberating Gospel of Jesus Christ.  “Bring the children to Me,” Jesus declares to His disciples, “and I will show you how My Kingdom works.”   Like Jesus, we seek to lift the children into His lap so that He can lay His hands on them and bless them.   Mark 10:13-16

Children will have a name, a niche, and a nurture.  They will see the unconditional, never-ending Love of God manifested in their daily lives.   They will experience the indescribable joy of the Father’s unlimited Love.   They will be encouraged and equipped.  They will be edified and enthused.  They will be enlisted and empowered to join the legions of God’s Army, ready to embrace the world and its challenges!

Adoption Overview

What starts as a gesture of love soon becomes an onslaught of paperwork. The forms, the home study, the waiting, and certainly the financial hurdles can be discouraging to a loving family wanting to open their arms to an orphaned child. The Orphan Foundation hopes to help you overcome some of those barriers by providing financial assistance and information for adopting families. Please browse the materials we’ve compiled to support you in your adoption journey.

Be sure to tell your friends about The Orphan Foundation, these resources, and our vision of finding permanent families and homes for all of the world’s 143 million orphans.

A Simple Guide to AdoptionDownload

This 30-page guide to adoption is a resource for those beginning the adoption process.  It will help you make the choice between international, domestic, and foster care adoptions, show you the timelines of each method, costs and budgets, and how to raise the funding needed to adopt.  The guide also includes the stories of three of The Orphan Foundation’s grant recipients, who are a true inspiration to anyone hoping to adopt. Another excellent source for international adoptions - by country - can be found at this link: http://adoption.state.gov/country_information.php. In the middle of the page you will see an input box where you can select the country from which you wish to adopt.  You will see answers to most of your questions, including ranges of costs.

Another great resource for getting started with adoption is from the Dave Thomas Foundation.  It's called "Finding Forever Families - A Step-by-Step Guide to Adoption."  You can get a free digital copy here: Download

The Cost of Adoption

This is an excellent Today Show video on the rising cost of adoption - one of the most daunting hurdles standing between adopting families and a child-in-wait. In our vision to one day make adoption free to every loving family that will open their homes and lives to an orphan, providing financial grants to adopting families is the first of The Orphan Foundation's 5 goals. We also point to other foundations that provide help, such as the one talked about in this video - the Help Us Adopt foundation which can be reached at this url: www.HelpUsAdopt.org. The Orphan Foundation Grant Application

Approximately 10 grants of $500/child will be awarded yearly. Our procedure is to review all incoming grants on a quarterly basis to determine eligibility. The base eligibility requirements are that you have successfully completed your home study and that the child you plan to adopt is still in an orphanage or in a foster care institution, as one of our primary missions is to help rescue the children that fall into this category. Note: we do not provide grants for birthmother adoptions or the adoption of step children. If you meet these requirements, then your grant request will be accepted for consideration with all of the other grant requests currently in the queue. We award the grants quarterly, and those awards are based upon our ability to fund. If you are not approved, your grant request will be removed from our queue, but you can resubmit for the next quarterly review. We also encourage you to look over the other sources of grants and loans that we provide on this page. And most importantly, thank you for helping us make a difference in the life of a child.

Adopt A Chinese Orphan

Why Adopt From China? China has a model adoption program which has been specifically praised by the U.S. Congress. In addition to having a large source of healthy infants, adoptions from China are often less expensive than from other countries, and the process is much more predictable and stable.

Can you Recommend an Adoption Agency? There are many excellent and qualified adoption agencies that we have worked with over the years. Please contact us at adoption@chinaorphans.org for more information.
How Long Does The Process Take? It is hard to predict with any certainty how much time is required to complete an adoption in China, but recently, adoptions were taking approximately 12 to 14 months from the time the U.S. adoption agency submitted the paperwork to CCAA.

No child becomes an orphan by choice.  No child wants to be alone in the world.  Whether they are old enough to understand their status, or still in their cribs eagerly waiting for some affection, these kids want a Mom and a Dad more than anything else.

Across the ocean, thousands of families are ready to open up their hearts and homes to these same kids.  We want to help them find each other.

Adopting a child - just like giving birth - is a life time commitment to love, cherish, care, worry, protect, guide, teach, support... The list goes on and on.  It is not easy being a parent under any circumstances.

It is even more difficult being an adoptive parent, as world bureaucrats require you to prove your worth through strenuous evaluation process and tedious adoption procedures.

Taking the adoption route takes strength, fortitude and bottomless love.  It involves ever-changing laws and regulations of at least two countries.  It involves travel abroad to a foreign-speaking country.  Most importantly, it involves enormous emotional commitment throughout the entire adoption process.

We salute all parents who take this road less traveled.  We thank you for the honor of helping you on this journey.

…making dreams come true for one orphan at a time

“Most orphanages don’t have children closets. Slim lockers contain all earthly possessions of an orphan – a change of clothes for a day, school books if any, and someone lucky may have a photo or two from their ‘past life’.

“But it does not stop orphans from dreaming of ‘real presents’. A doll, a bicycle, a new dress, they all mean so much to kids with nothing of their own. Every little wish coming true is already a miracle.”

Chinese girl placed into a loving family by A Helping Hand Adoption Agency. A Helping Hand Adoption Agency is a Christian interdenominational ministry dedicated to serving orphans around the world through adoptions and orphan relief. We specialize in domestic adoptions and international adoptions from China, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Panama, Nicaragua, and Russia.  Click here for more information on adoptions or submit a request for detailed information on our programs.

Our ministry is involved in humanitarian work in many countries to help those orphans who will not be adopted. We provide food, playground and rehabilitation equipment to orphanages and, where permitted, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with orphans and street children.

A Helping Hand Adoption Agency is a non-profit licensed child-placing agency with the Cabinet for Health Services of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Hague accredited entity with the US Department of State. We are also members of the National Council For Adoption and the National Christian Adoption Fellowship.

Thank you for visiting our website. It is our prayer that you will help us change the lives of orphans one home at a time.

NOTE FROM VANDER: I have NOT "VETTED" any of these organizations. I just offer them to you FYI, but always proceed with prudent caution and care & always make sure you talk to other people before proceeding in adoption.
